Unlock what your team is capable of
Give your team a shared language for how they work and a clear path to working better together.

The gap most teams never see
Poor team collaboration is expensive.
Team discussions usually centre around the latest project, whether it was delivered on schedule and up to standard. What most teams don't discuss was how well they worked together to deliver it.

Qualities of Practice
Look for qualities, not labels
Our exercises are built around Qualities of Practice, which differs from individual personality types and strengths profiles in that they put the focus on your collective Team Qualities.
Qualities aren't individual traits. They're the patterns that emerge when your team works together.
They're not fixed. Rather they shift under pressure, in calm, and as your context changes.
They operate in tandem. Your team's blend of Operational and Relational Qualities drives success.

Research and methodology
More than a decade of practice, distilled into 60 minutes
TQI wasn't built in a boardroom. It was developed by practitioners who spent years working directly with teams. The 52 Qualities of Practice framework draws on research in team psychology, systems thinking, and organisational behaviour. It's the rigour of academic research, made practical enough to use in an hour.

Grounded in team psychology
The Qualities framework is rooted in how teams actually behave - not how they're supposed to behave in theory.
Tested across hundreds of real teams
Over 10 years of face-to-face facilitation refined every aspect of the exercise before it moved online.
Built on systems thinking
TQI treats teams as dynamic systems - not fixed collections of individual personalities - which is why the insights stay relevant as your team evolves.
Designed by practitioners
The people who built TQI have sat in the rooms where these conversations happen - and they built the tool they always wished existed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about running TQI exercises with your team.
How many people can participate in an exercise?
Each TQi Core exercise supports 3–10 participants. This range is ideal for team learning: it enables meaningful participation from everyone while keeping dialogue focused and productive.
Do we need a trained facilitator?
No. Each exercise includes clear guidance that enables teams to run a meaningful session without a trained facilitator. Some teams choose to work with a trained facilitator at a later stage to deepen learning or address more complex challenges. TQI is currently developing a version specifically designed for trained facilitators to work with teams.
How long does an exercise take?
The full exercise is designed to take 60–90 minutes, depending on team size and depth of dialogue. The process includes 20 guided steps, each with an estimated time. Teams that choose to spend more time in discussion and reflection may take longer — by design.
Can we run multiple exercises with the same team?
Yes. By purchasing additional credits, teams can run multiple exercises over time — supporting ongoing learning across different situations, priorities, and changing contexts
Is TQI online suitable for remote teams?
Yes. TQI online has been specifically designed for remote and hybrid teams, and works equally well for in-person sessions.
What happens after the exercise?
The end of the exercise is not the end of the learning. The final steps support teams to identify personal and collective commitments, and to agree how they will notice, evaluate, and appreciate learning as it is put into practice.
